Radar Guns: What Do We Use Them for?

If you are interested in getting a radar gun, then you have to ask yourself the following question: what am I going to use this wonderful piece of technology to do?  People use radar guns for many, many reasons, some of them good, and some of them not a great, depending on the person.  Today though, we are here to talk about one specific use of the baseball radar gun, and that is for scouts to record the speed of a particular pitcher during a practice or a game.  Sports radar guns are used to test speed in athletes, and most are specifically used for recruitment of players onto one team or another, depending on the sport, and the interest of the scout. Most scouts will sit in something that every baseball field around the country has, a speed pitch booth, so that they can get accurate readings on the pitches of the players without reading any surrounding interference from wind or anything else.  These booths create extremely accurate readings, and allow players a fair chance to be drafted, regardless of the weather or any other environmental factors that may affect their performance.  So if you are interested in learning a little bit more about the sports radar guns that are used for recording speeds of athletes, then you may want to consider asking the next scout that you see, because most of them are very familiar with this type of technology.
